Welcome to our home

Our family story

We’re a family from California who found this special place in 2025 while looking for a slower, more grounded way of living — and knew right away it was meant to be shared. Bredsjö Herrgård became both our home and a place where others could come to rest, reconnect, and enjoy the simple things that matter most.

Life here is simple in the best way: time in nature, movement, sauna, good food, deep rest, and space to just be. Kids can roam, conversations stretch long, and the pace slows down just enough for you to feel like yourself again.

From our family to yours, welcome.

With love,
Marc, Erika & Ian 💛

Celebrity fitness trainer Marc McKellar and co-owner of Bredsjö Herrgård

Marc has been helping people move, train, and feel better in their bodies for most of his life. He’s worked with everyone from professional athletes to seniors, rebuilding strength after injury, and one of the things people love most about him is how naturally he meets people where they are. He knows how to challenge you, support you, and somehow make it all feel fun at the same time.

He grew up traveling around Europe in a VW bus with his mom, which probably explains his adventurous streak and his ability to make just about anyone feel at ease. As he gets closer to 60, he’s still learning new things (currently guitar), becoming an expert landscaper, and still proving that strength, curiosity, and growth don’t have an expiration date.

Erika McKellar co-owner, chef and nutrition advisor at Bredsjö Herrgård

Erika is a self-proclaimed serial entrepreneur, unapologetic Sagittarius, and the kind of person who usually says yes first and figures it out later. She’s endlessly curious, loves a good challenge, and is always learning something new. Despite having two master’s degrees, she still tends to trust lived experience over theory, very much a “live first, think second” kind of person.

She’s been practicing yoga for over 20 years and in 2025 became a certified teacher, which feels a little like stepping in to who she’s been all along. These days, she’s learning to embrace a calmer, more grounded way of living... most of the time. She’s trained in holistic nutrition and that now shapes how she cooks, teaches, and lives, creating a life that feels good, not just one that looks good online.

Ian and Rico the life of Bredsjö Herrgård

Ian and Rico are the heart (and heartbeat) of the gård. Ian, six years old and full of energy, is a true child of the world, born in Morocco, growing up in Sweden, and endlessly curious. He spends his days building LEGO worlds, sledding at full speed, paddle boarding on calm water, and embraces his role as the gård’s animal caretaker. He brings joy, imagination, and a whole lot of personality to life here.

Rico, our 12-year-old rescue dog from Mexico, is the manor’s loyal guardian and resident philosopher. He takes his job very seriously, especially when it comes to barking at the birds and before settling himself onto the antique couches to supervise the day. He’s gentle, watchful, convinced this place belongs to him... and honestly, he’s not wrong.
